Born in England, Pat Ley has been interested in art all her life and has drawn, painted and gardened since she was small. On moving to California she started to work with clay, and found art in three dimensions to be as fascinating as in two.
She works both plein air and from photographs, in a style that can be classified as classical European. Her interpretation of what she sees and feels is expressed with a love of composition, line and texture that is evident in all her pieces.
Her garden in Northern California incorporates her artistic ability with a deep knowledge of botany and both native and drought resistant plants.
